Back To Back To Back To Back!

D-backs outfielder J.D. Martinez hit four home runs Monday night, just the 18th time it’s been done in Major League history (and the 16th in the modern era) in the D-backs’ 13-0 win over the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium.

Martinez smacked a two-run homer in the fourth off Dodgers starter Rich Hill, solo shots in the seventh and eighth off Pedro Baez and Josh Fields, and added a two-run homer in the ninth off Wilmer Font to become the first Arizona player to hit four homers in a game.

Martinez, whom the D-backs acquired from the Tigers prior to the July 31 non-waiver Trade Deadline, was 4-for-5 with six RBIs on the night. He now has 34 home runs on the year, 18 with the D-backs.
