Dallas Police Suspend Investigation into Zeke

19 Jul, 2017

Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott was reportedly involved in an incident on Sunday night at a Dallas bar that left a man hospitalized with a broken nose. A 30-year-old man was taken to the hospital after someone allegedly punched him out.

TMZ obtained video from just after the incident, which showed blood pooling on the ground and a dazed man being dragged out of the bar. The person who recorded the video allegedly told TMZ that Elliott had punched the victim.

However, despite the presence of several witnesses to the alleged assault, Dallas PD announced today that they’d suspended the investigation due to a lack of cooperation from witnesses:

The assault offense that occurred on July 16th at the Clutch Bar located at 2520 Cedar Springs Road has been suspended due to the lack of a complaint. Dallas detectives made several attempts to contact the victim through various ways but at this time have not been able to make contact. To date no witnesses have come forward to provide any additional information about this incident.

Given the well-documented presence of people in the club and the alleged involvement of a very famous, scrutinized NFL player, this abrupt dismissal seems a bit suspicious.

It’s doesn’t seem normal for cops to drop an investigation like this only a few days after opening it up.
