Malibu Fight Involving Scottie Pippen Being Investigated

24 Jun, 2013

Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials say former Chicago Bulls star Scottie Pippen has shown up to a substation to be interviewed about a weekend fight outside a Malibu restaurant.

Department spokesman Steve Whitmore says Pippen came in voluntarily Monday. Authorities now say Pippen is a suspect in an investigation of an assault with intent to commit great bodily injury.

Investigators say Pippen was involved in a fight outside of Nobu restaurant late Sunday. They say there was an argument between Pippen and another man, who was taken to a hospital with a head injury.

Pippen helped lead the Bulls to six NBA championships in the 1990s. He is a special adviser to the team’s president and chief operating officer.

The Bulls declined to comment Monday.
