Red Bull Lets Chicago Show its Artistic Side

24 Apr, 2014

Dozens of artists, aficionados, hipsters and folks looking for a good time filled up the Moonlight Studios in Chicago for the  Red Bull Curates: Canvas Cooler Project. Talented artists tried their hand at creating a visual display on an ordinary Red Bull mini fridge.

The ‘Canvas Cooler Project’ is aimed at giving local up & coming artists a world stage to showcase their talents and Chicago was a must visit for this contest. 20 creative thinkers were selected to participate and have the work scored by a panel of judges as well as guests of the event. The hashtag #CanvasCooler kept tally of the votes from party-goers and made for a very interactive experience.

Chicago’s own celebrity artist, Hebru Brantley was also in attendance, no doubt giving inspiration to those participating. With Red Bull infused cocktails and sounds pumping, it gave the event a unique party vibe.

The winning honors went to Sam Kirk of Provoke Culture and Tim ‘Tubbs’ Alamillo of Alamillo Art & Designs. Their work won over judges and guests alike to earn them a spot at the SCOPE Art Fair in Miami during Art Basel in December.

Salute to the winners and Red bull. For finding a way to incorporate the arts and culture in a unique Chicago kind of way, respect!
