Calvin Harris Still Fist Pumping To The Bank
09 Aug, 2017
Once again, Forbes has ranked the world’s highest-paid DJs, and once again, Calvin Harris has come in first.
The Scottish producer had a pretty good year, what with his star-studded new album Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1 ushering in a golden age of pop posse cuts and “Slide” topping Stereogum’s prestigious Song of the Summer poll and all, and Reuters reports that he earned a staggering $48.5 million between June 2016 and June 2017, making him the No. 1 “electronic cash king” for the fifth year in row.
Tiesto also came in second place for the fifth consecutive year with a much less impressive $38 million. Step up your game, Tiesto! Really, the big/only difference here is that perennial No. 3 David Guetta has been displaced by The Chainsmokers, who netted a cool $38 million. Hopefully this small taste of success won’t go to their heads or anything. They seem like such nice boys!
