Season 2 of FOX’s hit series Empire promises more family drama
Fox’s hit show Empire exploded on the scene last season and instantly captivated its television audience. The trance continued throughout the 12 episode season with viewer numbers spiking each week.
But it wasn’t just broadcast numbers that solidified the show’s popularity. Quotes, hashtags and Empire inspired meme’s dominated Twitter and Instagram every Wednesday night.
Saks Fifth Avenue now offers an Empire-influenced clothing line and according to industry insiders, it was that influence that earned FOX its first GLAAD “Excellence” rating for LGBT representation.
The stars of the show Terrence Howard (Lucious Lyon), Taraji P. Henson (Cookie Lyon), Trai Byers (Andre Lyon), Jussie Smollett (Jamal Lyon), Bryshere Gray (Hakeem Lyon) and Grace Kelly (Anika Calhoun) haven’t stopped since the season finale having been cover stars or featured in almost every large-scale magazine, worked the talk show circuit and performed and/or hosted major award shows.
