Drake unveiled four new songs as part of his Apple Music OVO Sound Radio show Sunday, three of which will appear on his new project More Life set for release in December.
The rapper, who hosted the show ahead of his 30th birthday on Monday, called More Life a “playlist project” that will feature original music from both himself and his OVO collaborators.
On the frenetic “Two Birds One Stone,” Drake appears to address Kid Cudi’s recent spat with himself and Kanye West. Last month, Kid Cudi tweeted, “My tweets apply to who they apply. Ye, Drake, whoever. These niggas dont give a fuck about me. And they aint fuckin with me.” While West smoothed over the beef, calling Kid Cudi “my brother” at a show later that week, Drake references Kid Cudi’s 2009 album Man on the Moon on the new track, rhyming, “You were the man on the moon / Now you just go through your phases/ Life of the angry and famous.” Kid Cudi recently checked into rehab for depression and “suicidal urges.”
Elsewhere, “Fake Love” blasts “fake people showing fake love to me” over a twisting R&B beat, while “Sneakin” highlights rising Atlanta rapper 21 Savage.
The rapper also debuted his remix to “Wanna Know,” originally recorded by London rapper Dave for his debut EP Six Paths. “One of the youngest from the U.K. that’s on a crazy, crazy wave,” Drake said of the rapper.
