Sold Out and The Movie Doesn’t Come Out For A Month
11 Jan, 2018
Advanced tickets for Marvel’s Black Panther went on sale this week and quickly became Fandango’s best-selling tickets to a MCU film to date. Obviously, a lot of people want to see this movie in theatres on opening weekend, and many of them will. Unfortunately, Black Panther star Lupita Nyong’o might not be one of them.
Today, Nyong’o took to her Twitter account to express her utter delight and exasperation that she couldn’t buy tickets to the movie in which she stars as Nakia, a badarse Wakandan warrior who moonlights as a super spy. The reason? All of the advanced tickets seem to have sold out.
Nyong’o’s Nakia is a specialised member of the Dora Milaje who routinely goes on missions beyond Wakanda’s notoriously closed-off borders in order to gather valuable intel for her country. As both a former lover of T’Challa’s and a prominent Dora, we can expect to see plenty of Nakia when Black Panther‘s finally in theatres on February 15. Whether Lupita will make it to her local cinema, though, that’s up in the air.
