Ball Declares For NBA Draft Then Drops 72
27 Mar, 2018
LaVar Ball’s middle son, LiAngelo Ball, declared for the NBA draft on Tuesday just hours before putting up a monster stat line in Lithuania.
In a Big Baller Brand Challenge game between Vytautas and the Guangdong Southern Tigers youth team, the former UCLA freshman scored 72 points with 11 rebounds in the 159-115 win.
His younger brother, LaMelo, added 36 points while LaVar served as head coach.
Even though the 72 points was a massive number, it’s important to note the competition. It was a youth team from China while Vytautas generally played its full LKL squad. The game was considered “worthless” by a journalist covering the team.
With the 72 points, LiAngelo matched his career-high effort as a senior at Chino Hills (Calif.).
But hey, he did choose an excellent time for his huge scoring night — right after declaring for the draft.
Vytautas will play another BBB exhibition game on April 2 in London.
