Don’t Make Plans For That Justin Bieber Tour Just Yet
25 Jul, 2017
Justin Bieber has canceled the remaining 15 shows of his Purpose World Tour due to “unforeseen circumstances,” according to a statement from his representative Lauren Morris.
“Justin loves his fans and hates to disappoint them,” the statement reads. “He thanks his fans for the incredible experience of the Purpose World Tour over the last 18 months. He is grateful and honored to have shared that experience with his cast and crew for over 150 successful shows across 6 continents during this run. However, after careful consideration he has decided he will not be performing any further dates. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase.”
Bieber has been on the road in support of his well-received comeback album, Purpose, since March 2016, playing 154 concerts across North American, Asia, Europe, Africa, Latin America and Australia. He was scheduled to start a seven-city stadium leg in North America on Saturday in Arlington, Texas, before a string of dates in Asia in September and October.
The Purpose World Tour netted $93.2 million in the first half of 2017, according to Variety.
The singer, who was recently banned from performing in Beijing due to his “bad behavior,” is currently featured on Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s Despacito remix. The Spanish-language smash has been No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for 11 weeks and became the most-streamed song ever last week.
