Macy’s Continues Tradition with APA Heritage Celebration

Renowned fashion photographer Nigel Barker stopped in Chicago as part of Macy’s Asian Pacific Heritage Month celebration.
An eager crowd of fans were excited for the opportunity for their up-close and personal meeting with Barker whose 20 years of industry experience includes 17 seasons as a judge on the hit show, “America’s Next Top Model” and co-host of “The Face” on Oxygen network.

“Macy’s is thrilled to partner with Nigel Barker to celebrate Asian Pacific American art, culture and heritage in stores nationwide” Macy’s vice president of diversity strategies, Dineen Garcia said. “He represents the strongest voice and point of view in photography and fashion…and we are excited to share his stories and expertise with Macy’s customers.”
But the fans weren’t the only one’s excited about Barker’s six-store tour that includes stops in New York and Los Angeles. “I am delighted to be collaborating with Macy’s to discuss my favorite subjects in the world, fashion, photography and Sri Lanka” Barker said.
Fans not only received insider industry information from Barker but also signed copies of his second book, “Models of Influence: 50 Women Who Reset the Course of Fashion,” that profiles women who have influenced the modeling and fashion industries and challenged our perception of beauty.
