Kid Cudi Has Fighting Words For Drake (No, Seriously)

28 Oct, 2016

Kid Cudi wants Drake to know: He’s listening.

The rapper checked himself into rehab earlier this month, sharing an open letter with fans that he was seeking to combat “depression and suicidal urges.” Then he got dissed by Drake in his new song, Two Birds, One Stone.

Here are Drake’s fighting words lyrics: “You were the Man on the Moon, now you go through your phases / Life of the angry and famous.”

“Say it to face, (expletive). You think it’s a game. I wanna see you say it to my face. I’ll be out soon. Promise,” Cudi tweeted from rehab.

This feud dates back to September, when Cudi went on a Twitter rant calling out Kanye West (whose G.O.O.D. label he was previously signed to in 2008) and Drake, alleging that they don’t write as much of their music as people think. “Everyone thinks they’re soooo great. Talkin top 5 and be having 30 people write songs for them,” he tweeted.

West hit back, claiming he “birthed” Cudi (the two first collaborated on projects like 808s & Heartbreak), and accused him of jealousy. “You mad ’cause I’m doing songs with Drake? Ain’t nobody telling ‘Ye who to do songs with!” he said on stage on Sept. 15. But the two seemingly recovered. Five days later, West called Cudi his “brother.”

Clearly, the feud with Drake still stands.
