Rooftop Fashion Show? Must Be Chicago

06 Sep, 2014

It’s said that the best time to enjoy the city and really feel its pulse is during the week. What better time to test this theory than by attending a Thursday night fashion show on top of one of Chicago’s hippest downtown hotels? I hadn’t been to the ROOF on the Wit since the newly installed retractable ceiling debut.

A novel idea aimed at providing guests the opportunity to enjoy the space and spectacular views of the city not dependent on the weather.

The nights show was one of a series of summer fashion-focus events. The 900 Shops on Michigan Avenue was tonight’s host boasting a plethora of pieces that almost covered the entire spectrum of life from work to leisure to play. Designers Karen Millen, COP-COPINE, DNA2059 & Azeeza showed their most creative pieces.

Models walked along a raised, elongated table that doubled as their catwalk. The privileged seated surrounding it. DJ DOLO who was stationed at the front, projected sound levels high enough to keep the trendy vibe but level enough to hold a conversation. It definitely wasn’t just an after-work set. The diverse, lively crowd and panoramic views made it a weeknight to remember. But don’t take my word for it. Take a look at the pics!

Until next time-Enjoy!
