Lights…Cameras…Fashion! Macy’s Glamorama makes Philanthropy Look Good
15 Aug, 2013
Macy’s Glamorama proved to be the annual event of the year joining high fashion and philanthropy like no other. The Trending Report joined the sold out crowd who attended this years’ event, themed “Fashion in a New Light” at the Harris Theater in Chicago.
The high-energy show was filled with Cirque du Soleil performances that were specifically coordinated for the event, dancers with neon, glow-in-the dark apparel and an outstanding performance by nine-time Grammy Award winning artist Sheryl Crow.
Labels that dominate the industry including Tommy Hilfiger, Rachel Rachel Roy, Diesel, Jean Paul Gaultier, Weekend MaxMara and Philsophy showcased their lines with models that commanded a stage filled with an array of lights, moving lifts and high-definition pictures.
Still, the highlight of the evening was the $250,000 raised for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana whose mission is to care for families of children with complex medical needs by providing “a home away from home” just steps from where their child are being treated in the hospital.
