In what’s being called her most powerful performance to date, Kristen Stewart trades in the red eyes of Twilight’s Bella Swan for military gear in ‘Camp X-Ray.’

Stewart transforms into ‘Cole,’ a small-town girl who joins the military looking to make a difference. Instead she finds herself working as a new guard at Guantanamo Bay.  Surrounded by hostility and hatred, she forms unlikely friendships that take an interesting turn when romantic feelings emerge.

The Trending Report spoke with Stewart’s co-star, Lane Garrison whose character becomes one-third of what ultimately turns into a love triangle.

“I play Randy, a young Corporal who’s been desensitized after being in that environment for so long.  It wore me down. It wasn’t until Kristen Stewart’s character comes in and she starts to emotionally chip away at me and make me feel something again.”

Garrison says the audience will go through a range of emotions in the film that shows a gritty, solid portrayal of the desensitized life of Gitmo prisoners. “You’re angry, sad and upset. Then there’s a little bit of hope. There wasn’t a dry eye at the theater during the screenings.”

“It’s really powerful.”
