If Cash Is King, P Diddy Owns The Kingdom

08 Sep, 2016

Forbes unveiled its “Hip Hop Cash Kings 2016” list, and Diddy holds down the No. 1 spot for the second year in a row.

Diddy has kept himself quite busy this year, kicking off his Bad Boy Reunion Tour last week and releasing a short-film as part of his new Ciroc vodka campaign. Diddy’s resume alone is proof that hip-hop and entrepreneurship work simultaneously, and after raking in $62 million this year, the mogul’s resume will only continue to grow.

2016 has also been great to Jay Z, who pulled in $53.5 million, holding the No. 2 spot, and Dr. Dre, who stepped up slightly from last year’s rank and sits at No. 3 this year with $41 million following the success of the 2015 N.W.A biopic StraightOutta Compton. Drake, Wiz Khalifa and Nicki Minaj ease in right behind the top three Cash Kings.

In order to be featured, artists’ “pretax income from touring, record sales, streaming, publishing, merchandise sales, endorsements and other business ventures” are reviewed and the list is then compiled.

Take a look at the entire top 10 Hip Hop Cash Kings at Forbes.com.
