Bring On Game 7

31 Oct, 2017

The Astros had the Dodgers right where they wanted them in Game 6 of the World Series on Tuesday night. Starting pitcher Justin Verlander, who’s been unbeatable since Houston acquired him two months earlier to the day, had a one-run lead through five dominant innings, putting the Astros four frames away from winning the World Series.

But the bottom of the Dodgers’ order set up a two-run rally in the sixth against Verlander, and Joc Pederson sailed a home run to left field in the seventh off reliever Joe Musgrove to send Los Angeles to a 3-1 win at Dodger Stadium and force a winner-take-all Game 7 here on Wednesday night.

Since 1985 — when the League Championship Series went to seven games — teams going home down, 3-2, in any seven-game series and winning Game 6 are 14-2 in Game 7. The Dodgers will send Yu Darvish to the mound against Lance McCullers Jr. of the Astros in Game 7.
