24 Apr, 2015
If you’ve ever wanted a few of Oprah’s things now is your chance! Over 500 of the media moguls personal belongings are up for auction and will be available to the highest bidder, Saturday April 25th.
Sure there are the high-end pieces like “The Red Scarf” painting by Richard Edward Miller that has a bid range from $80,000 – $120,000 and the Viennese Ebonized Dressing Table from $7,000 – $9,000, but if you think this auction is only for the rich and famous, think again.
The Trending Report took a tour of the showroom at Leslie Hindman Auctioneers who’s hosting the event and quickly spotted the bargains.
There are 16 pairs of sunglasses (Fendi, Jill Sander, Michael Kors) from $50-$70, Chanel bags from $300 – $500 and if you quite literally want to walk in Oprah’s shoes, two options for you are a size 40 1/2 Chanel black patent t-strap high heel or Christian Louboutin bronze leather platform high heel D’orsay size 41, both with starting bids from $100-$200.
According to a Bloomberg report, the overall sales are expected to rack in anywhere between 850,000 to 1.3 million. Proceeds will be dedicated to The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy Foundation in South Africa.
This auction has generated worldwide buzz and is sure to have Oprah fans reliving iconic moments of her self-named show that ruled the airwaves for decades.
I couldn’t help looking around for the red wagon when I noticed the clothing ranged from sizes 8 to 14. No red wagon but the ‘his and hers’ bicycle set and rack of weights drove the point home.
Keep in mind, you don’t have to live in Chicago to get your hands on the goods. Aside from physically being at the auction, you can register to bid by phone, on-line or register for an absentee bid.
And because I want you to take full advantage of this rare opportunity, here’s a link to the auctioneers site where you’ll find a complete list of everything that could be yours-if your price is right. http://www.lesliehindman.com/
