Chance the Rapper Hosting Free Concert to Encourage Voting

06 Nov, 2016

After performing as part of Jay-Z and Beyonce’s Cleveland concert in support of Hillary Clinton, Chance the Rapper is hosting a free concert of his own in his hometown Chicago. In conjunction with his nonprofit organization SocialWorks and Virgin Hotels, the concert will serve as the headlining event for the national Parade to the Polls campaign meant to encourage Chicago’s youth to vote.

“This election is very important, a chance for new leaders and new opportunities to emerge,” Chance said in a press release. He also expressed his pride in partnering with organizations and doing his part “to give everyone a voice in the democratic process and encourage people to vote, both locally and nationally.”

The concert is set to take place November 7th at the Virgin Hotel and will include such Chicago-based artists as Twin Peaks, Eryn Allen Kane and Taylor Bennett. Following the performances, Chance and SocialWorks will lead the crowd to the nearest polling station.
